It has come to our attention that AVG has been giving problems to our players, detecting Maplestory.exe as a virus. In response to your feedback, the developer, Nexon, has brought this case up to AVG. A positive reply has been received and AVG has added MapleStory’s files to the list of trusted programmes. We would like to request Maplers to download the newest version of AVG – AVG 9 – to experience a smoother gameplay. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you very much for your continued support towards MapleStory.
For players who had their Maplestory.exe removed by AVG AntiVirus, please follow the steps below to recover them:
1. Open AVG
2. Select ‘Computer Scanner’ tab
3. Select ‘View Virus Vault’
4. Select ‘Maplestory.exe’ and select ‘Restore As’
5. Find MapleStory folder and click on ‘OK’
